Free Initial Screening IITAP Assessments at Recovery Zone

Insights Counseling Center values the role of comprehensive assessments in guiding your therapeutic journey. As part of our wide array of resources, we endorse the free initial screening assessments available at Recovery Zone.

These screening tests are designed to serve as a starting point in identifying potential areas of concern that would benefit from professional help. The assessments include:

  1. Sexual Addiction Screening Test (SAST): This assessment is designed to assist in identifying sexually compulsive behavior that may indicate the presence of sex addiction. Take the SAST

  2. Betrayal Bond Index Test (BBI): This series of statements describes traumatic bonding, which occurs when a person creates a bond based on betrayal, leading to what we call a betrayal bond. Begin the BBI

Please note that these screening assessments are completely anonymous, secure, and free of charge. No identifying information is collected, and we recommend printing off your report before closing your browser for your reference. Results from these screenings can provide initial insights and guide subsequent treatment planning.

Remember, these assessments are first steps, and they do not replace the benefit of a comprehensive evaluation with a healthcare professional. At Insights Counseling Center, we're here to guide you through the process and provide the necessary help and support.

Therapist Ordered Assessments

The Sexual Dependency Inventory (SDI)

The Sexual Dependency Inventory (SDI) is a tool designed to assess an individual's sexual compulsivity or addiction. It consists of 108 questions that examine various aspects of an individual's sexual behavior, thoughts, and feelings. The SDI can help identify patterns of problematic sexual behavior and assist in the development of a treatment plan tailored to the individual's needs. It is important to note that the results of the SDI are not used to diagnose a disorder, but rather as a starting point for further exploration and discussion for treatment planning. Sexual addiction is a complex issue and we use this tool in conjunction with other assessments and therapy modalities. With the aid of the SDI and proper treatment, individuals struggling with sexual compulsivity can regain control of their lives and relationships.

Tal's description is that it is his version of a CT Scan. It shows him where the disease currently is, and where it is heading. This is extremely helpful in guiding treatment.

The Inventory for Partner Anxiety, Stress, and Trauma (iPAST)

The Inventory for Partner Anxiety, Stress, and Trauma (IPAST) is a comprehensive assessment tool that offers hope and understanding to individuals who have been impacted by a loved one's addictive behaviors. Designed for both men and women, the IPAST delves into various aspects of a partner's experience, including traumatic reactions, family of origin, resiliency, and attachment styles. Through this assessment, clinicians gain valuable insights into how an addict's behaviors have influenced their client's life and their ability to heal from past traumas. By understanding these dynamics, therapists can create tailored treatment plans that address the unique needs of each individual. The IPAST not only aims to shed light on the impact of addiction but also provides a beacon of hope, empowering individuals to overcome their challenges, restore their relationships, and move forward on the path to healing and recovery. We are here to support you every step of the way.

Post-Traumatic Stress Index-Revised (PTSI-R)

We are dedicated to helping individuals and couples who have been impacted by addiction and emotional trauma. That's why we utilize powerful tools like the Post-Traumatic Stress Index-Revised (PTSI-R), developed by the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals (IITAP).

Unlike traditional trauma tests and questionnaires, the PTSI-R recognizes the complexities of these challenges, addressing clinical features and co-occurring populations that are often overlooked. Whether you are struggling with sex addiction or betrayal trauma, the PTSI-R is tailored to meet your specific needs.

If you and your partner choose to rebuild, the PTSI-R is a valuable tool to have in your arsenal. It is approached from an interdisciplinary social neuroscience perspective and pairs beautifully with the PACT work we do to help couples create secure functioning in their relationship. Together, these tools enable couples to not only heal, but to improve and grow, ultimately thriving in their relationships.

Money and Work Adaptive Styles Index (MAWASI®)

The Money and Work Adaptive Styles Index (MAWASI®) is a powerful tool that helps individuals struggling with money and work-related issues. Developed by Bonnie DenDooven, MAWASI® utilizes attachment theories, neuromarketing, and behavioral economics. With 12 subscales, it captures the diverse impact of money and work on individuals' lives. By understanding these subscales, we can see how individuals have adapted their lives to accommodate their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors surrounding money and work.

Relationship Assessments

Your therapist will send you a link to complete these assessments, and the reports will go directly to your therapist upon completion and will be reviewed for treatment planning and shared in future therapy sessions.

Gottman Connect Couple Assessment

Utilizing decades of research, this assessment provides a comprehensive understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of your relationship, allowing us to create a personalized plan for improving communication, trust, and intimacy.

When the assessment was initially created, the questions asked each spouse what kind of partner they were for their spouse. Those couples were tracked, and there was not a significant correlation to validate the assessment.

They went back and asked the questions from the perspective of what kind of spouse your partner thinks you are. Following those couples, they were then able to predict with over 90% accuracy the couples that would remain married and those that would end in divorce.

The results come to the couple in a combined report to help spotlight the strengths and weaknesses between the partners in the couple, not showing specifically who reported stress or dissatisfaction. This increases understanding for the couple, accelerates treatment planning for the therapist, and contributes to more directed successful interventions.

Mental Health Assessments

Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scale 42 (DASS42)

The Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scale 42 (DASS42) is a powerful tool to help us understand the emotional well-being of clients seeking support. It assesses depression, anxiety, and stress levels, guiding personalized treatment plans for recovery and thriving.

State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI)

The State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI) is a tool we use to gain insight into the anxiety levels of clients. The STAI assesses both state anxiety, which fluctuates in response to situational stressors, and trait anxiety, which is the level of anxiety an individual typically experiences. By understanding the difference between state and trait anxiety, we can develop personalized treatment plans to address specific needs, guiding your treatment.

Personality Type Assessments

Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)

The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) is a reputable psychometric questionnaire designed to delve into individual psychological makeup and typify personality nuances. Rooted in the theoretical framework of Carl Jung, the MBTI assessment provides a comprehensive understanding of how you interact with the world and arrive at decisions.

Tal Prince, is proficiently trained in the administration and interpretation of the MBTI assessment. This invaluable tool facilitates the comprehension of 16 unique personality types, based on the integral pillars of Extraversion-Introversion, Sensing-Intuition, Thinking-Feeling, and Judging-Perceiving.

Utilizing the MBTI assessment, Tal Prince can help augment your therapy experience with Insights Counseling Center, irrespective of who your primary therapist may be. The insights derived from MBTI act as a beneficial adjunct to your individual, family or couples sessions, fostering enhanced self-understanding, and providing a framework to nurture healthier connections.

Tal Prince's in-depth interpretation of MBTI results illuminates your unique behavioral patterns and personality traits, and steers you in productive directions. He offers two distinct stages of MBTI guidance:

  1. Step 1: MBTI Type Indicator: The initial report succinctly captures your inherent personality type coupled with a detailed analysis. This analysis constitutes the cornerstone of your understanding, fostering personal and professional growth, and cultivating your intrinsic strengths while overcoming potential weaknesses.

  2. Step 2: In the Grip: In the subsequent stage, the 'In The Grip' assessment is introduced. This assessment is specifically designed to investigate how each personality type responds under stress. This pivotal knowledge aids in establishing effective coping mechanisms and strategies for resilience.

The MBTI is a helpful tool for self-discovery, personal growth, healing, and enhanced resilience.

Enneagram

The Enneagram is a dynamic psychometric system that explores the human personality. It is based on a model of nine interconnected personality types, each offering unique insights into our motivations, fears, and desires.

Insights Counseling Center utilizes the Enneagram assessment as a reflective tool that provides deeper understanding of an individual's fundamental motivations. This model allows you to better understand both your strengths and areas of growth, enabling you to harness your full potential.

Conducted by our life coach, Melody, the Enneagram assessment prompts introspection and self-discovery in a safe, supportive environment. It supports the therapeutic process, encouraging personal growth, enhancing self-awareness and cultivating healthier, more empathy-driven relationships.

Whether you're pursuing individual, couples, or family therapy, the Enneagram assessment is a valuable addition, enriching your therapeutic journey towards resilience and healing.
